REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS

If you are on regular medication you may like to contact your Doctor’s surgery and ask them to give your repeat prescriptions to Anthony's. We then collect them, and deliver the medicines to you.

We can advise both you and your Doctor's surgery when it is time for a new prescription, which makes life much easier if you are on regular medication. If you would like to take advantage of this enhanced service, please discuss with our Pharmacist.

DELIVERY

If you are unable to come to the Shop to collect your prescription, we are happy to deliver to your home. Our van covers an area bounded by Canning Town, Barking, Gants Hill and Whipps Cross daily.

There is no charge for delivery, and it is not exclusively for the housebound, and not restricted to prescriptions and medical items. You may use our delivery service for your shopping or photographic items. Just phone, fax or e-mail an order and we will deliver, usually next day.

If you get your order in by 11.00am we will try and get it to you the same day.

If you are not known to us as a frequent customer, the Pharmacist will need to talk directly to the patient or their immediate carer for home delivery of medicines.

MANAGING YOUR MEDICINES

If you, or someone you care for, are finding it difficult to cope with your medicines, we may be able to help. We understand that it is not always easy to remember what tablet to take when, but we also know how important it can be to take your medicines at the right time.

There are several ways to package your medicines to make it easier to remember. Please feel free to talk to our Pharmacists. They will be happy to discuss your circumstances and advise accordingly.

FAMILY PLANNING

We carry the usual ranges of home pregnancy tests, ovulation tests and contraceptives in the shop. We offer a pregnancy testing service for £5.50. The "morning after" pill is available, but a consultation with the Pharmacist is always necessary.

Both our Pharmacists are specifically trained to deal with enquiries from the under 18's. Please ask for the extra privacy of our consulting rooms downstairs or, if you prefer, to speak to a lady Pharmacist.

HEALTH CHECK

At Anthony`s we can now provide you with a range of tests and measures so that you can keep an eye on your general health and assess your risks for later problems. It only takes a few minutes, downstairs in our Health Check room. It isn`t always necessary, but helps if you can book ahead. Please ask the Pharmacist. We can check your :

• Height/Weight
• %Fat
• Body Mass Index
• Waist
• Blood pressure
• Pulse
• Glucose level
• Cholesterol level

The cost is £5 for a complete check.

NURSING & RESIDENTIAL HOMES

We supply several local Nursing and Residental homes with medicines in special packaging - we use MDS (Boots/Manrex) system - to enable staff to better monitor their patients medication regimes.

We also use Dosette boxes, for individual customers and for supervised groups of patients in the community and in hostels.

Both systems are backed up with daily deliveries, if needed, and supervision by a specially trained Pharmacist when required.

MINOR AILMENTS

You should first visit or telephone your Doctor's Surgery, and, if appropriate, they will give you a voucher or a number to take to the Pharmacy. After that initial visit you can continue to visit the same pharmacy under the scheme.

The Pharmacist will give you advice or a prescription as necessary. This may be especially useful for children’s illness at times when your Doctor’s Surgery is busy.
